Who We Are
Selah is a student ministry dedicated to providing a safe, Christ-centered environment where students can grow in their gifts, build confidence, and learn valuable life and theater skills.
Theater is a complex and costly art form, but at Selah, our heart is in ministry. It’s a blessing to offer children and young adults a welcoming place to make friends, try new things, and become part of the Selah family.
Selah is structured as a for-profit company for tax reasons but operates as a non-profit ministry. Tuition, ticket sales, and donations work together to cover licensing fees for quality shows, costumes, set construction, building use fees, storage fees, and more.

Our Amazing Team
Michelle MurrayDirector, Producer
Michelle Murray started Selah Academy for the Arts in 2001. She teaches, produces and directs most of the shows at Selah.
She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and a minor in Music from Bob Jones University in 2001. She also studied enough credit hours for undeclared minors in French and Dramatic Productions. Michelle has directed over 90 plays with Selah, and she enjoys working with students to develop and showcase their specific talents.

Beth KeyMusical Director
Beth Key is excited to join Selah Academy for the Arts team as the HS Music director. After working for 10 years in Kansas public schools as a choir teacher where she directed such shows as South Pacific and Little Shop of Horrors, she moved to Houston with her family in 2012. While homeschooling her three children through high school, she has directed choir at Bay Area Performing Arts Coop, Co-directed homeschool musicals at Upstage Arts, and worked with many talented vocalists through her voice studio. As a director, some of her favorite shows include High School Musical the Musical, Into the Woods and Fiddler on the Roof. She is looking forward to serving the awesome Selah community.
